![]() I'm trying to install Arch (for the first time) and the installation was going fine until I tried to install grub. I'm following the Beginners' guide on the Arch wiki and I don't know where I messed up. I'm at the point where I need to install a bootloader, the command: grub-install --recheck /dev/sdb returns with: Installing for i386-pc platform. Grub-install: error: failed to get canonical path of 'airootfs' I am installing on a 64 bit machine and using the BIOS/MBR instructions with Windows 10 already installed on a separate drive. I tried Googling the issue but I can't seem to find anyone who has had this problem. Thanks in advance for any help. Edit: I forgot to mention; I have an Intel CPU and I couldn't figure out how to install 'intel-ucode' • • • • •. I might be searching in the wrong place but I looked up EFI on the navigation bar of the Arch wiki and it took me to the UEFI page, I don't see anything that says how to find Win10 if it's on MBR. I'm on a self-built PC, I've used Ubuntu and Debian before but admittedly I don't think I have much technical knowledge of Linux, the only thing I used the terminal for was for installing packages and such. I checked for the files it said to check for to see if you're in UEFI mode and they were not present (I may have switched something off in my mobo's bios for that to happen).
