Borland Database Engine Installer BDE Installer Some applications use the Borland Database Engine to do data manipulation. Unfortunately, this DB engine is usually installed by the host application's installer, and not available as a separate install on its own. I discovered this the hard way when I did a Windows reinstall which broke an application that depended on BDE. I know I certainly did. ![]() To install the Borland Database Engine on modern versions of Windows (both 32 and 64 bit), we have created an install script, which can be downloaded from here. What the script does It copies the Borland Database Engine files (which would be installed by the setup program shipped with the Domesday Explorer CD) into C: BDE32.
